A non-refundable booking fee of £350 is taken to book & confirm my services. I will also ask you to sign a booking form so that I have all of your contact details & to make sure nothing can go wrong. The remaining fee is payable 28 days before your wedding date.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS FOR?
I've been a full-time freelance photographer for 6 years and I've shot around 200 weddings (maybe more!) I had occasional part-time jobs before I relied solely on being self-employed but I've never had a 'proper' job and I don't intend to.
WHAT KIND OF CAMERA DO YOU HAVE?
I use Canon DSLR's and I always have a couple with me as a back-up. So that's a digital kit; I shoot RAW and I try to do it as quietly and inconspicuously as possible. I don't beep and I try not to use flash - hopefully there's enough natural/ambient light to keep me happy but sometimes needs must.
WHAT TIME WILL YOU ARRIVE?
I tend to arrive 1-2 hours before you're ready to leave for the ceremony (or 2 hours before the ceremony begins if you're getting ready in the ceremony venue) and that helps me warm up, helps you get used to me being around and we get the first part of the story. I would normally ask you to choose one of you for me to be with at this point - unless you're both getting ready 3 doors down from one-another and I can easily photograph bits of both parties. It just makes it easier and less stressful to know that I'm not chopping and changing location too much!
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I GET?
That varies depending on your wedding plans and how the day pans out. I also think that it's important to give you a story, so one image might not make sense on it's own but next to another it comes to life. On average I'd say around 350 though. Quality over quantity - although your grandparents might have a shock if you told them that isn't many in the big wide world of wedding photography.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
You still get married and you still have the time of your life. We still take pictures and maybe you're surprised at how much fun it is to let go and not care what the weather is doing. Okay so it's not quite the cider advert you had in mind but some of the best weddings I've been at have been in wild weather - I actually think that it makes for dramatic pictures and there's a daredevil kinda vibe... You feel like you're really living! Obviously I'd never drag you outside if you didn't embrace it but that dress is pretty special and it's a shame for it to kept indoors all day.
DO YOU PREFER COLOUR OR BLACK AND WHITE?
I work on each image individually to bring out the best in them and so often you'll end up with a mixture of the two. I believe it gives a different depth to the story and of course is very forgiving if you specified a black tie dress code and Aunty Nora didn't get the memo.
DO YOU DO GROUP SHOTS?
Of course. If you want them!
It might be worth having a think about a list so that we're organised on the day - I don't have a shot list for this because all families are different and they're your photos at the end of the day... I'd stick to about 8 to make sure that they don't take up all of the fun times and would allow 30 minutes to get that bit ticked off, it would also help to have an usher or two who knows the people on the list and that has a good voice!
Some people (alot of my couples actually) decide that they're not that fussed and that's okay too.
WHAT TIME DO YOU LEAVE?
Again that depends on your plans. Generally I leave just after the first dance (if there is one.) We will always discuss that closer to your wedding date so that it's clear when I'll be leaving. I usually work it out on about 8-10 hours altogether; it's a long day to be on my feet and constantly alert so I do like to make sure we're being realistic.
ARE YOU A MACHINE/ROBOT?
Far from it! I am a big softie and tend to cry at speeches. I do request a hot meal (usually when you're eating as I take that as an excellent time to rest) and it's up to you if there's room for me with the rest of your guests. I find that it helps everyone relax if I'm sat amongst them and they realise that I'm not a nasty camera-wielding thing that is on a mission to make them look bad. I AM a veggie as well, just to be awkward.
DO YOU WORK ALONE?
I do. I like that. It means that you get a focused view from a single perspective - I believe that it makes the story flow much more naturally and if I brought another photographer it might feel too much like a photoshoot production and less like a wedding. Plus it makes the images you do have much more important.
ARE TRAVEL EXPENSES INCLUDED?
Yes. All my costs are included in the price - if your wedding is on UK mainland. If you're getting married elsewhere I can work out a bespoke wedding price for you, again all costs will be included in that.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE WEDDING?
The fun bit; hangovers, cloud 9 and a marriage. I take about 2-3 weeks to work on your images and then BAM! a parcel through your door with a USB stick full of your wedding images and a box full of goodies to continue the party. You will have low resolution images for email/web sharing and high resolution images for printing. You can print them to your hearts content; make mugs, t-shirts and decorate cakes with your faces on. I can recommend printers for you if you don't know where to turn.
DO YOU DO ALBUMS?
Yes - I work with Folio Albums who produce beautiful hand-bound (in the UK) fine art books with a variety of cover and sizing options, starting at £300 for a 6x6 album. If they're not to your liking then I provide your wedding images at a high enough resolution to print so you're absolutely welcome to source your own album or book design and have complete control over that process, I just give you the images to make it with. Fill in the contact form and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If I am available all I need is some contact details from you and a £350 deposit to confirm your date in my diary. If I am already booked I will do my best to provide you with a handful of names of highly recommended friends/contacts.
